Granite Construction partnered with Clear Spider in order to create a flexible system that could help them track the consumable materials being used across many of their diverse projects.
To assist in this goal, Clear Spider implemented our mobile app which allows Granite Construction’s technicians to scan out inventory as it’s used on different job sites. One of the best developments Clear Spider has created for Granite Construction is the GPS / location data adapter. Using this custom adapter, Granite’s site inspectors can scan in the location of finished projects and have this data readily available in their instance of Clear Spider with a link to its actual location on Google Maps.

What Clear Spider has Done
The Clear Spider team worked with PPG to develop a system that would assist with tracking inventory used both in the warehouse and by their technicians out in the field.
With many drivers on the road providing services, Clear Spider was set up to use our mobile app as the technician’s main tool to scan inventory in and out of their trucks and to create purchase orders while out in the field. PPG also uses Clear Spider to monitor the inventory levels at their customers’ stocking locations and will recommend restocking orders when specific supplier run low. This ultimately helps strengthen the relationship between PPG and its customers by proactively keeping customer locations stocked and inventory turnover high in PPG’s main warehouse.

TJ Electric wanted a system that could be used to track what inventory and equipment was being used out in the field so they could know what jobs they could commit to and what items needed to be restocked.
Clear Spider provided the perfect solution by implementing the use of the Clear Spider mobile app in TJ Electric’s operations. The mobile app allows technicians on the road to update what inventory is used at a job in real-time while also assisting with creating receipts out at the job sites. Unlimited Technology wanted the ability to access item details and capture inventory data without tying up additional resources. Clear Spider provided a solution that could capture and report this data while simultaneously speeding up inventory processes.
The Clear Spider team set up our mobile app to be the main tool used by Unlimited’s technicians. Through the app, a technician can scan an item’s barcode to have access to specific item details and create a digital pick list which tracks what items have been & need to be picked. The barcodes are also scanned when different security items enter and leave the warehouse and this data is used to update inventory levels in Clear Spider in real-time. A FIFO system adapter was also implemented to ensure inventory that has been in the warehouse the longest is used first and this leads to a more efficient use of inventory items.
